The majority of the planned 2022 wedding celebrations are rescheduled events from the last two years. Planning a wedding in this seemingly busy year can be stressful. This blog serves to help you find an overview of D.C.’s most stunning wedding venues, our favorite photographers and wedding organizers.
The nation’s capital is known to be a cultural center of the U.S. because of all the National Historic Landmarks, museums and historic places such as the Capitol and the White House. It is DC where style, history, and aesthetics come together in the form of classic white marble or historic old clubs. There’s a variety of options to choose from for your wedding ceremony, photography and celebrations. We have curated a list of six of our favorite locations, photographers and wedding organizers.

The Meridian House
The Meridian House is designed by renowned architect John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial, the National Gallery of Art and the National Archives. The historic house has beautiful gardens, plenty of trees, and makes it a perfect location to give your guests some shade in the summer and green vibes. More information here.
Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR)
The O’Byrne Gallery is where receptions are held. The space is versatile. The Gallery opens onto the Portico that overlooks the White House, your guests can enjoy cocktails hour and dancing here. Upstairs there is a historic library and balcony overlooking the Washington Monument for more classic DC backdrops. More information here.
Washington National Cathedral
There is nothing more romantic than the dramatic, gothic architecture of the National Cathedral in DC. It’s one of the most beautiful churches in all of the United States. There’s a beautiful garden that is well maintained. Hosting your wedding here will be less easy, but you can apply for a permit to be married or take photos in their garden. More information here.
The Andrew Mellon Auditorium
The Andrew Mellon Auditorium is designed by San Francisco architect Arthur Brown, Jr., built in between 1932- 1934 and is located in the Federal Triangle. The Great Hall is one of the largest wedding venues in Washington D.C. The classic, historic design of the venue makes it a great location for your wedding photography. More information here.
Carnegie Institution for Science
There’s something special about getting married in an Institution for Science. The building is beautiful and classic, very D.C. style with white columns and a grand staircase. The interior is very elegant as well, with many big windows that allow beautiful daylight. More information here.
